SEN Provision at Easingwold Primary School

 

Providing for children with SEN is the responsibility of every adult at Easingwold Primary School. However, the adult with named responsibility for SENDCo is Mrs K Exelby. She can be contacted on the school telephone number 01347 821282 or by emailing admin@easingwold-pri.n-yorks.sch.uk. 

 

Mrs Exelby champions the needs of children with learning, medical or physical difficulties. She is a member of the School Leadership Team (SLT) and represents the view of the parents and children who fit within the SEN category. This ensures that the voice of these, often vulnerable pupils, is front and centre of our decision making. 

 

Our children come to school with a wide variety of needs and challenges. We work hard at Easingwold Primary School to overcome children's barriers to their learning so that all children can thrive and achieve highly.

 

So that our approach to supporting children with Special Educational Needs is consistent and effective we follow the policies and procedures set out below. Further to our own school policies we have also attached a link to the Local Authority 'Local Offer'. This sets out what families and children should expect in terms of support if they have special educational needs.

Compass Buzz and Mental Health

 

We have been working with a local charity to train our staff so that they are well equipped to provide support to children who may be experiencing emotional difficulties. We see mental health as a key component to enabling children to thrive and have worked hard to raise the profile of this service in school.
