Please support your child by ensuring they practice their current Maths Target which can be found inside the cover of their Maths homework book. Targets will be tested each week.

Please also encourage your child to read for at least 10 minutes each day and for reading records to be completed daily. They will earn an EPIC point for every 5 reads.

Welcome to our classrooms:

Autumn Term 1:

Year 1/2 have had a fabulous trip to Redcar. The sun shone for us and there were cheers of delight as the children spotted the sea from the coaches. We were lucky to be able to visit both the Zetland Lifeboat Museum and the RNLI Station to compare the world's oldest surviving lifeboat to a present day one. There was also fun to be had on the beach and lots of enjoyment creating our beach art.

Autumn Term 2:

The children have enjoyed taking part in their first Christmas production- Christmas with the Aliens. All of the children got the chance to showcase the play at The Galtres Centre, singing and dancing under the bright lights as they told the story of baby Jesus.

Spring Term:

Each Year 1 and 2 class have received 3 gymnastics lessons at York City Gymnastics Foundation. It has been so exciting to learn how to use all the amazing equipment and practice new and sometimes challenging skills.

Summer Term 1

This has been a busy and productive half term. Children have learnt about what aspects of life were like in WW2, explored the large gymnastics equipment and they have planted a variety of vegetables, which they have keenly observed over the last couple of weeks.

In our final week, we have enjoyed some art lessons. Children have been drawing fruit and vegetables and learning how to shade, as well as paint with watercolours. They also enjoyed some fun on their bikes and scooters as a reward for all their hard work.
