On Tuesday 20th February, 154 of our Key Stage 2 children travelled to the Utilita Arena, Sheffield to take part in Young Voices.
After many months of rehearsing, the excitement was palpable as we took our seats in the arena. Some of the children had never experienced a large entertainment venue and their awestruck reactions were wonderful to hear and see! We were thrilled to perform alongside so many other schools. It was easy for the parents to spot us with our fantastic new banner, kindly donated by Rockin’ All Over the Wold.
A highlight was singing alongside Nandi Bushell, the incredibly talented 13 year old drummer. The children were also captivated and inspired by the street dancers from Urban Strides. We took part in a Mexican Wave which rippled around the vast arena. The parents in the audience were incredible as they tried their hardest to beat the children in a 90s inspired dance-off! It was hard to say who won but I am sure all the children loved to see their parents ‘bringing the moves’. Memories to last a lifetime indeed.
