This week we have been celebrating the Diamond Jubilee. We use the 5 ways to well being in our school to help us stay healthy physically and mentally. The Queen has lived a long and healthy life and has also used the 5 ways to well being. To commemorate this special occasion we have taken part in 5 different activities to stay healthy.
Give - We did a sponsored bounce to raise money for The British Legion
Keep Learning - We have all learnt a new skill this week from tying shoelaces to origami to speaking Spanish.
Be Active - We took part in a cardio tennis session at the Galtres Centre.
Take Notice - We have done some mindfulness activities such as yoga and some calming art activities.
Connect - For the first time in a long time, we got to spend time as a school community when we held our family picnic this afternoon. It was so good to back together again to celebrate.
Our Year 4 children have had a fantastic time at East Barnby on their very first residential. They have learnt how to body board and complete an orienteering course. They have also developed their resilience and a love of the Great Outdoors when exploring the seashore and hiking up Roseberry Topping. They have certainly become more independent as they have had to look after their own belongings, keep their rooms tidy and help to set up and clear away in the dining room.
