  • Remembrance Day

    Fri 12 Nov 2021

We have marked Remembrance Day by creating our own memorial at the front of school. Mini Leaders have been selling poppies and other merchandise to raise money for the Royal British Legion. We also took part in a special assembly and held a two minute silence to remember the sacrifice others have made and continue to make.

  • Black History Month

    Fri 08 Oct 2021

In our first assembly in a series to celebrate Black History Month, we learnt about Betty Campbell who fought the racism she experienced as a teacher to become the first black Headteacher in Wales. We learnt that she was told from a very young age that becoming a Headteacher was insurmountable for her because of her background but she persevered and followed her dream, never giving up.

  • In Memory of Captain Sir Tom Moore

    Thu 04 Feb 2021
To celebrate the life of Captain Sir Tom Moore and pay tribute to his achievements, we held an assembly today to talk about his determination and perseverance. We reflected on how we could learn from his life and pay tribute to him by trying our best in all that we do and to remember to not give up when things get tough. On Friday, we will all be completing the 'Do 100 for Captain Tom' challenge and sending in photos and videos of our tributes to him. Watch this space for our whole school video. RIP Captain Tom, you are our hero.
  • Art Project

    Fri 08 Jan 2021
Before Christmas, we had a Wellbeing Week and revisited our '5 Ways to Wellbeing.' Each team studied a different artist and then created some work in a similar style which helped us to 'Take Notice' and 'Keep Learning.' The art work is now up in our main corridor and has made it look like a real life art gallery. We can now all enjoy the work as we move around school.
  • Christmas Celebrations

    Fri 18 Dec 2020
We have a had a fun filled week in school and everybody enjoyed their Christmas parties. I have still not recovered from losing to Miss Potter in the After Eight game! Our Christmas dinner was delicious and I would like to say thank you to all of the kitchen staff who worked so hard to prepare and serve it. Reverend Young did a fantastic job of delivering our Christmas service online and the children were really captivated by a video of her daughter playing Jingle Bells on her French horn. We also really enjoyed the final Open the Book assembly of the year where we concluded the Christmas story. My week has ended in Mrs Bramma's class with a raucous round of the Christmas Pirate Game, I didn't know that our Year 4s were so ruthless! Happy Christmas everybody.
